The photograph above was taken circa first decade of the 20th Century. It shows the area which today encompasses part of the garden. Clicking on the image will load a QTVR movie showing the garden which "...became a formal part of the Mission after the rebuilding of the church in 1931. Represented in the garden are various plants such as palm trees, bougainvillea, aloe vera and roses. Within the garden are crosses made from original mission tiles placed in remembrance of all the indian neophytes who died during the mission period."
