My first night in town I climbed the side of a hill. Off in the distance I spotted a row of lights, reminding me of a string of pearls. Later I was to discover the "string of pearls" were actually lights of the San Diego Bay bridge. As I scanned to the right I saw a burst of light just above the horizon. Boy was I in for a surprize.
