| As we walked around the museum, we found one of the Florida Green Anole Lizard stalking, and then capturing a cricket for its meal.
The Green Anole is one of the critters kept in the museum and is used to teach students about the differences and similarities between lizards and snakes. |

The Green Anole is sometimes called a "Chameleon" because of its ability to change colors, blend into its surrounding habitat. The color varies from a greyish-brown to green. It is not a true chameleon. Found throughout Florida, staff at the Center have found skeletons of the lizard at the bottom of the White Top Pitcher plant where it sometimes will wait for prey. |
