This beginning view of of the school was taken from the front entrance. Swinging the view to the left, the vistor will notice two of the three blackboards. These blackboards are not your modern day type, they are actual slate boards salvaged when one of the older schools was demolished to make room for growth. A better view of these slateboards can be seen in the first view of the schoolhouse. The long black pipe of the pot belly stove was designed to keep heat in the room instead of letting it go up and out the flue.
