The Porch

Porches were important for rest periods, routine chores, visitations, daytime napping, dog and cat space and for meeting a host of other daily needs. The dimensions here are ten feet by forty feet wide.

Many dog trot houses had even wider porches, some up to fifty feet. Note the Wisteria vine (movie) on the west end of the porch which provides shade.
